We had a very personal situation happen dealing with a child custody case and Cody was elated to assist. He even related it to his own personal experience. He was willing to “work with us” whenever we had retained him, but I see that it was just a quick way to get some fast cash. Never heard back fro...m him since retaining, didn’t answer any calls or texts and especially after my significant other went off on him once we GOT him on the phone after not showing up and advocating for us in court, you know, like what a lawyer should do. We retained another lawyer who simply shook their head at the paperwork Cody initially filed as he was using clauses that were not applicable/old and not in use anymore. Rather than taking responsibility and admitting that he bit off more than he could chew with obtaining new clients, he simply picks and chooses what reviews to respond to and uses attorney tactics to justify his actions/threatens to sue. I’m convinced the only reason he is able to afford his orange sports car is due to unjustifiable and malicious intent.

I hired Cody to do an uncontested divorce. I definitely wouldn’t recommend attorney Cody Smith. He was very unorganized and didn’t preform all duty’s he was hired for such as filing quit claim deeds to divide assets. He also failed return calls or respond to messages. And he didn’t notify me for mo...nths to let me know my divorce was final even with me reaching a it multiple times for updates. He claimed this process would take 45-60 days it ended up taking much longer.
