Michael Lee Miller

Michael Miller came to Lowther Johnson as an associate attorney in 2004. He built a successful practice and strong relationships with partners, clients, and peers. In 2010, Lowther Johnson made Michael a member of the firm and selected him as the managing member of the firm in 2012. He assists his clients, which vary from individuals to a Fortune 500 company to local companies and banking institutions, with all of their legal needs. Michael has successfully litigated numerous cases in state and federal courts and has handled appeals on the state and federal level. He practices in a variety of legal areas, including corporate law, civil litigation, real estate, banking and finance, landlord rights, and creditors’ rights. In his time at Lowther Johnson, Michael has handled real estate transactions and development, and advised and prepared documentation for the formation and operation of business entities.

Michael has demonstrated to his peers and community his exceptional legal ability and leadership. He was selected by the Springfield Business Journal as a Trusted Adviser in the attorney category in 2014. Michael was also selected as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine in 2014, 2015, and 2016. Also, in 2014, he was selected by Missouri Lawyers Weekly as one of Missouri’s “Up and Coming Lawyers” and received special recognition as a Law Firm Leader. The Springfield Business Journal again recognized Michael in 2015 as a member of that year’s class of “40 Under 40”.  Michael has been awarded Martindale-Hubbell‘s prestigious “AV Preeminent” rating, the highest peer rating available, signifying preeminent professional excellence and ethical standards.

Outside of his practice, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and son. His wife is an Assistant United States Attorney. Michael was born and raised in Lamar, Missouri, before deciding to make his home in Springfield after two summer clerkships with Lowther Johnson. He and his family enjoy traveling to as many Mizzou sporting events as possible and watching his alma mater.
