Disappointed.

Beyond disappointed with his services. I spent thousands with him. I was lost when I was referred to Mr. Risley and he made me feel comfortable about him representing me. He was misleading along the way with my case and he would yell in rant form when I asked questions. I set up multiple meetings for... us to do my discovery questions and he wasn’t even there. Then gave me a week notice of it having to be done and then dropped me as a client within two weeks of my trial and the same day as my schedule deposition. I wouldn’t recommend him to my worst enemy!

I am sorry you feel this way but have to respond based on your allegations. Anyone who could review public records would be able to see I represented you on two separate occasions, the first time for 3 months on your initial case which resolved and then you contacted and hired me again for your second case in which I represented you for over 18 months before filing a Motion to Withdraw. You recently failed to respond to multiple e-mails and phone calls in which I advised your participation was necessary so I filed a Motion to Withdraw. I cannot do my job if clients refuse to keep in contact with me, something that was attempted to be explained by me to you on several occasions. I also am unsure of how I would be misleading to you when sharing information from other parties in the case and advising you as best I can based on the information provided to me by you. I certainly understand the emotional toll cases like this can take on you and other clients.

Did a great Job!

I hired Brian to help me with a legal name change. Mr. Brian Risley stayed in close contact and updated me as the process moved forward. I could not be more pleased with his services. I would defiantly use him again. He was very affordable and very knowledgeable.

Helped me through my divorce

Brian was great and helped me through a very rough time in my life. He was always available to answer my questions and got my case resolved in positive matter.

Great work and dedication by Mr. Risley

I had a difficult modification to go through with a very difficult ex-spouse and his equally frustrating attorney. I had used several other attorneys who were not being very helpful or promising and went to see Mr. Risley. He immediately got to work on my case and got up to speed very quickly. He ...answered all my questions (which were a lot) and really sounded like he listened. We ended up having the trial on several days over several months, but he stayed with, kept in touch with me and the Guardian Ad Litem, and was able to convince the Judge that my child's best interests were to reside with me. I am so thankful for the work he did and would highly recommend him.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
