Joel Thomas Harris

Had some divorce matters that were unresolved and asked for assistance. I was told the retainer was $3000 which I paid. I was assigned a Paralegal.... After 2 weeks had gone by I called their office and asked to speak to the assigned Paralegal. Once on the phone she claimed she really hadn't fam...iliarized herself with the particulars of my case, which seemed very unprofessional. Communication was poor. My experience with Harris Law was short-lived and ineffective. I believe Divorce matters are not a area they are comfortable handling, and my case received very little effective action. Would not recommend their office for a Divorce Case. The money paid them was disproportionate to any effectiveness in my case.

Mr. Harris is a fantastic attorney. He is knowledgeable, ethical, hard working, and assertive in representing the best interests of his clients. He is not an attorney who will tell you exactly what you want to hear if it’s not possible or reasonable, which doesn’t always feel great, but I appreciated... his honest perspective. He is great in the courtroom- he is well prepared and well spoken. I had so much confidence in Mr. Harris and his staff throughout my case and honestly now consider him a friend. I wouldn’t hesitate to refer anyone to him.

My ex husband had fought paying child support for fifteen years and I had been to different attorneys in the past that drug out each modification case which in turn cost me thousands of dollars. Each modification my ex husband had filed, I had "won" in the end but both of us were out so much money pl...us my daughter went through so much emotional damage because of it that NO ONE actually won. My daughter was 17 and again my ex filed another modification and I had no money left and was trying to represent myself and trying to wade through the forms to save money so I could actually do what I needed to do....take care of my children. I met Joel during a class I was taking at a local college and he was the adjunct professor. I spoke to him about my case and he said he could help. He worked with my ex husbands attorney and came to a resolution quickly which put a stop to any additional modifications and most importantly, gave my daughter peace which she had never had before. Joel was always able to be reached to talk, would fill out the documents right when I was in the office and let me do things that I could do to save me money. He explained the pros and cons of each thing we did so I was informed of what would be the outcome. He kept communication to the other attorney to a minimum so it kept the rate down. I respect Joel because he did not do the drama but had concern for others. He is also a Christian, does not flaunt that but it truly shows in his actions not his words. That speaks volumes to me.

I went to Joel on my Divorce and custody and while that was going on my son was in a car accident... He handled both amazingly. The divorce was fast and my son got a settlement on his accident for way more than we expected. I call him everytime I have a legal question and it is just like talking to a...n old friend.
