I hope anyone I EVER divorce uses this Attny

I was married to this Attny’s sister from 2002-2020. SHE, (this Attny) insisted upon us having a Prenuptial Agreement, because they, the sisters, had some mutual assets which this Attny wanted to protect. When the sister opted for divorce, ilo an offered reconciliation, (after this Attorney ‘stron...gly’ encouraged her to engage in some unspeakable behavior) I was able to have non Attorney siblings, working on my behalf, in concert with my paid legal representation (Whom I wouldn’t consider using again for myself) negotiate a settlement which included her sister paying me monthly payments of $6500/month, for 60 months, plus, $179,456.23 in cash, up front, plus, releasing any claim to a rental property located on Mission Rd, in Prairie Village, Ks., directly across the street from Shawnee Mission East High School (the #1 rated High School in the S M School District), plus $558,642.50 from this Attnys’ sister’s retirement fund, and I kept my own Retirement Fund Account with another $450,000 plus/minus in it.

Jayne & Laura the Dynamic Duo

Jayne and Laura are my superheroes. You could say the Dynamic Duo that improved our family’s custody situation forever. Something you can’t put a price on. I’ve read all the reviews both positive and negative. I completely agree with the positive reviews, and don’t understand the negative reviews.... My experience with Jayne and Laura couldn’t have turned out any better. I’ve had a very high conflict, complicated custody case that has gone on for years. In the beginning I made the mistake of trying to save money by hiring an average attorney which was a huge mistake. I had a very strong case and should have gained more custody in the beginning. However due to incompetence and lack of expertise from a previous attorney, a corrupt Social worker, and an unfair Judge at that time, I lost joint custody. It was devastating to our family and a total failure of the Family court system. It was very discouraging and I felt helpless, but I wasn’t about to give up and let my child continue to suffer, and be deprived of his natural rights, and of opportunities he is entitled to. I was persistent and began diligently searching for the best attorney I could find. I did my homework and interviewed several attorneys that were referred by other attorneys, or highly rated. Many of the well known attorneys declined from taking my case when they saw who the Judge was, and the case history, which was even more discouraging. Thankfully Jayne Pearman, took my case which turned out to be the best decision I could have made. Jayne listened to every detail remembered every detail, was very straight forward, has a no non nonsense approach, truly cared to help, and wasted no time coming up with a strategy that proved to be very successful. She let me know up front it would take time to turn things around. With each step, our situation improved. Jayne knows who’s who in the Johnson County courts, she know the court system, and what works. She highly respected by other attorneys, and we came out on top each and every step of the way. She went as far as giving me books to read, and gave me advice that proved successful. We are now enjoying another of her brilliant parenting plans that not only resolved many issue, but gave me the majority of parenting time and decision making. Jayne and Laura are very competent, professional, and efficient. Jayne has always been very fair in her fees, and worth every dime. I would highly recommend Jayne and Laura to anyone.

Jayne is the best!

I was stalled in a divorce that wouldn't end...except for the billable hours. When the legal bills passed $200,000, I asked her to come in and take over. It was the best decision I ever made, because she put everything down in black and white and came up with a cogent plan that the judge appreciated,... and the divorce was granted within two months...which saved me countless thousands of dollars! In the end, it was a fair and equitable arrangement that she arranged...without all of the rancor my previous attorney had created. I recommend her services in the highest regard. You'll not be disappointed!

I'd file a complaint with the bar

Ms. Pearman wasn’t at all helpful with my case. After several years of legal wrangling and tens of thousands of dollars spent on Jayne’s questionable advice, I had no choice but to settle, relinquishing most of my rights to see my children AND I’m now paying double in child support. During all of thi...s, Jayne was very prompt in collecting her fees. I could have saved the money, time, trouble, and head/heartache and settled out of court myself. Because of Jayne Pearman’s “legal counsel”, I will hardly ever get to see my children.

Could there be a worse lawyer in KC?!

I read the other negative reviews of Jayne and they are exactly what I experienced with her as my lawyer also. She's not only expensive but she was never prepared, always out of town or hard to reach. She was extremely confrontational with me and not with opposing attorneys. Yelling at me over the ph...one at times as well as her para Laura. This is after she has already collected tens of thousands of dollars from me. She let the opposing attorney have whatever they ask for often without question or contacting me if I was agreeable. She consistently forgot details of my case and sent emails to the court or between lawyers with incorrect details. When I pointed out said details she did not correct them but rather became confrontational with me. She never explained my options during the months long processes but was quick to send out her bill to me with inflated rates. A 30 minute phone call was billed as an hour and charged $300. She was not advocate for me. If anything she was extremely damaging to my case. Please do yourself a favor and find someone else that truly cares.
