Poor Communication

My husband and I were referred to Chris Warden for our case of suing the previous owner of our house for fraud and/or negligence. We explained the issue to Chris and he told us what our options were. We came to the conclusion we were going to send a demand letter to the previous owner of our home. It... was very difficult to get ahold of Chris and we would have to call his office every day to try and get an update, but were never able to get ahold of him. We also tried emailing him but he never would get back with us to update us. We were finally able to get ahold of Chris and he said he could do the demand letter but it would take him about a week to draft one, and he told us it would be around $300. We were prepared to pay him and were trying to get ahold of him to ask him how to pay him, and we were unable to get ahold of him yet again. When my husband and I expressed our frustration of never being able to get ahold of him for an update or even being able to pay him to send a letter, we were sent an email the next day with him stating that he wouldn't be representing us. This happened with no warning whatsoever and the whole time he had us believing that he was able to take on our case and draft a demand letter. We were able to get ahold of another lawyer and that lawyer was able to draft a demand letter within 24 hours. I believe that Chris was too busy to take on our case, but he should have been professional and told us that from the beginning so we weren't wasting our time. He was very unprofessional and his communication with us was horrible. I do not recommend this lawyer if you are wanting a lawyer who communicates and updates you, and if you want a lawyer who gets things done quickly.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
