Biography
Adv. Leon Versfeld is a prominent US Business Immigration attorney with the global immigration law firm of Versfeld & Hugo, LLC. He represents a variety of US Fortune 500 companies as well as some major league sports organizations, investors and individuals with extraordinary abilities in the arts and sport. Leon has been recognized by his peers as one of the top 5% attorneys in Missouri and Kansas on US immigration law and has the highest rating with Martindale Hubble.
He is often invited to present on the topic of US immigration law both nationally and internationally and has authored a variety of legal articles on US immigration including the desk book for attorneys on “Immigration and Naturalization Practice" published by the Missouri Bar. Leon serves on the Board of Directors of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association with a membership of over 5,000 attorneys.
Prior to establishing Versfeld & Hugo, LLC, Mr. Versfeld practiced law in South Africa as an Advocate (Barrister) of the High Court of South Africa before coming to the United States. He successfully petitioned the Supreme Court of Missouri to waive Supreme Court Rule 8.03(a)(1) and Rule 8.03(a)(2) requiring a Juris Doctorate from a law school approved by the American Bar Association, and was admitted to practice law in the State of Missouri after passing the Missouri Bar Exam.
