Lucas G. Whitworth

Luke Whitworth is a lawyer in private practice with the trial law firm of Davis, Bethune & Jones, LLC in Kansas City, Missouri.  Luke clerked for DBJ while in law school and was hired on as an associate after graduation. 

Luke has dedicated his career to representing individuals who have been severely injured and families who have lost a loved one due to the negligence and bad acts of others.  Luke is passionate about helping people when they need it the most. 

Luke concentrates his practice on personal injury and wrongful death litigation, including car accidents, trucking accidents, dangerous railroad crossings, plane crashes, products liability, and other cases involving death or catastrophic loss.  In addition, Luke works on insurance bad faith claims, complex business fraud cases, and other cases relating to business and insurance litigation.

Luke is a member of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Missouri Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice.

Luke has lived in the Kansas City area his entire life.  He was born and raised in Blue Springs, Missouri.  After graduating from Blue Springs High School, Luke attended undergraduate and law school at the University of Missouri – Kansas City (“UMKC”), where he was a Member of the National Trial Advocacy Team and a Founding Member of the Board of Barristers. 

While at UMKC, Luke also served as the Vice President of the student body, an Executive Board Member to the UMKC Student Senate, the Student Representative to the UMKC Strategic Planning Committee, a Governor on the UMKC Board of Governors, the Chairman of the R.F.K. Symposium Committee, and the Co-Chairman of the Student Activity Fee Committee.

Luke comes from a family of lawyers.  His father is a federal judge, his older brother is a lawyer in Kansas City, and his younger brother is in law school at UMKC.  Luke also has an uncle and a cousin who are lawyers practicing in Missouri.
