Osgood Didn't Defend Me

In 2011 I was indicted for federal wire fraud related to five homes I purchased in 2006 with the intention of flipping them. The prosecutor offered 18-24 months in prison, but I knew I had not agreed to anything that was false or fraudulent. Against the advice of Mr. Osgood, I proceeded to trial. ... The discovery materials were provided on a CD. The loan applications were images of copies of faxed documents. On these images you could not see the bottom of the forms where the originals I later obtained while in prison showed my initials were missing from every page with false information. Three of the witnesses who testified against me were former business partners who lied leaving the impression I had stolen some $250k from them. This could have easily been refuted with bank statements that Mr. Osgood had refused to obtain stating they would never be allowed to testify because it didn't pertain to the mortgages. This man refused to defend me because he had wanted me to plead guilty. There is much more that I could say that I won't. The bottom line is that this man is not to be trusted. I was ultimately sentenced to 87 months in federal prison because he refused to defend me at trial

I dispute most of the information in this post. The case was well tried. The defendant testified but was convicted. The case was affirmed on appeal. There was not post conviction relief. The conviction is final.

Grand Jury Investigation

Mr. Osgood asked me if I would comment here on his representation of me. I was caught up in a grand jury investigation and threatened with criminal indictment. Over the course of several months he met with prosecutors and agents and ultimately obtained immunity for me to testify at the grand jury. ... I was not indicted and charged with any criminal offenses, although about 8 other persons were. As far as I am concerned there is no amout of words to describe what a great job he did for me. I have no criminal record and I think but for his help I would have been charged. I would absolutely advise anyone who asks to get him for your attorney if the feds are after you. He made a big difference. Other attorneys for some of the other persons involved made deals for plea agreements but he held fast. Great guy also and easy to talk to -- always returns calls and keeps you informed.

Got me acquitted in 15 minutes

Mr. Osgood defended me in a federal gun case. I was accused of interstate transport of a firearm in violation of federal law. He thoroughly prepared me to testify but after his investigation and cross-examantion of government witnesses we decided I did not need to testify because he had thoroughly ...destroyed the case. The verdict was not guilty in 15 minutes. He is a former federal DA and outstanding defense attorney.
