If the option was available to give him 0 stars I would've. Richard reached out to me via mail citing court records show I had been arrested and to contact him for a case review. Upon meeting him in the office for the free case review he falsely advised me it would be in my best interest because they... hadn't issued on me yet. Being a person unfamiliar with this terminology as well as not wanting to be issued on, I quickly retained him. He stated that the retainer for the case was $1,000 and only applicable if they issued. Richard was not available to me as I had to contact him several times to inquire and follow up. I with his representation had to do the following on my own: travel to the police department to obtain the police report, draft my own counter claim to the contents of the police report, and follow up with him regarding the status of the supposed issuance on me. In the end of speaking with the police department they advised me that I was not issued on, nor was the attorney credible his advice/suggestion to me. After I was told this information I went to Richard and he not only put me out of his office when questioning him about what he had done but he also advised me that he would issued payment in the mail. Less than 1 week later he issued me a refund in the amount of $175 meaning he charged me $825 for no work done. He falsified his invoice to state he went to the police dept to obtain the report, he had a phone conversation (3) all for $825 for 2 hours and 45 minutes of work. Richard is lazy, arrogant, a liar, and preys on people who are not knowledgeable on how court and issuances work. I do not recommend him

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
