Mr. Brandt concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate and business law, mergers and acquisitions, insurance law, financing and estate planning.

Mr. Brandt advises clients on structuring business organizations and business transactions in the most tax-efficient and commercially practical manner.  Additionally, Mr. Brandt has negotiated transactions which deal with all aspects of stock purchases, mergers, asset acquisitions, buy-outs, recapitalizations, spinoffs and reorganizations.  He also has significant experience in various types of private placements of debt and equity securities, representing both the entrepreneurs seeking capital and the private investors.  In his insurance law practice, Mr. Brandt counsels insurers, insurer associations and producers on a broad range of legal issues arising in their business operations.  He assists clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions of insurers and insurance agencies, and the formation of captive reinsurance companies.  Mr. Brandt’s estate planning practice involves tax planning, business succession planning and creating estate planning documents.  He is a frequent speaker on estate and business planning to financial planning professionals, CPAs and the public.

Mr. Brandt is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Law where he graduated on the Dean’s List and received the Order of the Barristers and the Fred L. Howard Prize for Excellence in Appellate Advocacy.  He is a member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the Missouri Bar and the American Bar Association. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Society of Financial Service Professionals–St. Louis Chapter. Mr. Brandt has an AV Preeminent peer rating of 5 on which is the highest rating available.
