Benjamin Reid Askew

Ben is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group.  He focuses his practice on the areas of patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, and unfair competition litigation in district courts throughout the country and before the International Trade Commission.  
 
He has experience litigating complex commercial disputes and intellectual property cases in federal court, state court, and arbitration.  Ben’s clients have ranged from small businesses and individuals to Fortune 500 companies.   
 
Education
 
Ben received his J.D. in 2006 from The George Washington University School of Law.  During law school, he interned with the Office of the Inspector General for the Federal Reserve Board, served on the Student Bar Association, and was a Vice President of GWU’s Street Law Program.  
 
He graduated from Truman State University in 2002 receiving his B.S. degree in Business Administration and Political Science.  At Truman, Ben was a Pershing Scholar, played on the Truman tennis team, and was selected to join the Blue Key National Honor Fraternity.

Ben was recognized as a Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers Rising Star® each year from 2009 through 2012.  He was recently selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2014.

He is a Member of the Missouri State Bar Association, American Bar Association and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.  Ben is licensed to practice law in the State of Missouri and the State of Illinois, and he is admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the International Trade Commission, the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri, the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois, and the Eastern District of Texas.
