Avoid like a plague

Don't do ANY business with him or anyone at that law firm for that matter. They are all greedy and care about no one but themselves, but he is absolutely the worst. If you were sued by someone, he will exploit your anger at the one who sued you to milk you for much more money that it would cost you t...o settle, considering that it is a standard practice that in every settlement agreement defendant does not admit any wrongdoing. If you are absolutely sure of your innocence, you can easily find someone cheaper and with integrity, which Hunter completely lacks. His actions might be even illegal, which means that you might pay much more if you lose on appeal. Don't take just my word for it, check out Hunter's actions in cases of Alexander v. Casino Queen, 321 Fed. Appx. 509 (7th Cir. 2009), Alexander v. Casino Queen, Inc., 739 F.3d 972 (7th Cir. 2014), in which he demanded plaintiff to pay defendant's attorney fees BEFORE THE CASE WAS DECIDED and Riley-Jackson v. Casino Queen, Inc., 782 F.Supp.2d 692 (S. D. Ill., March 1, 2011). If you are a plaintiff unlucky enough to have this law firm representing defendant in your case and you lost, I suggest that you carefully check the case materials for any dirty tricks by this law firm, maybe you can appeal. In their greed, these lawyers are not satisfied with practicing in Illinois and Missouri, they went outside of their area of practice and got sued as the result of their dirty actions. You can see it for yourself in case of Ysursa v. Frontier Prof’l Baseball, Inc., Case No. 20A-CT-49 (Court of Appeals of Indiana, decided July 2, 2020). In short, as my title says, avoid this lawyer and the entire law firm as a plague, you would be better off for it.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
