This is a class A misdemenor. In addition, a conviction will result in a revocation of his driver's license. he should probably hire a lawyer.

IF MD honors the Interstate Compact of which it and SC are members, then yes. And you should expect SC to take action against your driver's license...

Depends on where you got the ticket, and only an experienced traffic lawyer in that county is going to know the answer.
