John Verner Freeman

In an area in which lack of expertise made us extremely vulnerable, Mr. Freeman was straightforward, informative without being pedantic, and encouraging. He was particularly patient, and he explained things as often as it took to make it easy for us to understand. Even when we elected to pursue a co...urse that was not particularly practical, Mr. Freeman expressed his opinion of the best options, but then enlightened us about the course we chose to take, even though he did not necessarily agree it was the best (as in most practical) option available to us. I had previously worked with a friend who is also a respected local lawyer, and much as I respect my friend, Mr. Freeman really paid attention to what we were seeking and offered a far more informed opinion that was much more attuned to what my family and I were trying to accomplish, even though he did n't know us at all. My husband was initially quite skeptical about a "small-town" lawyer; Mr. Freeman made it clear to all of us right away that compassion, sound preparation, knowledgeable counsel, and integrity are found within the man, not the locale in which he practices. We are grateful our paths crossed.
