Waste of money! She works with the courts in Illinois. Charged with DUI without a BAC or blood sample. Explain how? She did nothing couldn’t contact to her, don’t answer phone calls or emails. Matter fact I did better representing myself. I wouldn’t not hire her for DUI charges or for nothing at that.... The worst she’ll have you in a worst position then you was. But she will take your money though!

When i first got in touch with her she said she could get my case resolved with no jail time, the day before my court date she told me i had to take my time or go to trial and lose, also 9 days after me having a daughter. She got me the same plea deal that a public defender was able to get me after i... payed her 5000$ and “couldn’t get me anything less” She promised shed never had a client get denied for boot camp then after three months in a receiving center i was denied and my mom had to get in touch with the courts to get the paperwork fixed because a box wasn’t check marked and she didn’t pay enough attention to notice it. After i was supposed to do 120 days in boot camp i ended up doing 9 months all together. She did not answer one call from me the whole time i was incarcerated. She didn't even show me a motion of discovery to show me the evidence the courts had against me. Horrible service, DO NOT RECCOMEND!! I would give 0 stars if possible.

I hired Cheryl Whitley back in 2017. I had 6 counts of aggravated battery with a firearm and was facing up to 30 years in prison at 85%. I was in jail for 6 months and she only came to see me 3 times! She kept telling me if we went to trial I would be found guilty and given the max. My last court dat...e the state had offered me 18 years at 85% and she wanted me to take it but I told her I wasn't and she asked me what would I take and I told her I'm not taking anything! She then asked would I take 15 years if she could talk them down and I told her no and I wanted to go to trial. So both the state and defense announced ready for trial! I called home the next day and found out all charges had been dismissed because they were having trouble locating the victim and witnesses weren't cooperating. She didn't even come to tell me any of this! Instead I had to call home to find this out. It was about 4 other guys in the jail I was being held in that fired her because she wasn't doing anything for them either. She might be good for traffic or misdemeanor cases but if you have a serious felony don't hire Cheryl Whiltey unless you want to go to prison!

Cheryl R. Whitley is a great lawyer and I have nothing but great things to say about a woman that cares and fought hard to keep me.. Looking at all types of charges I walk away a free man. If you want someone to fight for you and your freedom she is a straight shooter.. Always answer or return calls..... Make time for her clients and client families. I thank you Cheryl R Whitley for her service and my freedom....

I'm a CDL Class A driver and received a speeding ticket for 15 miles over the speed limit. I spoke with Ms. Whitley and she assured me she would do everything she could to help me out knowing that that ticket could jeopardize my ability to work. Ms. Whitley informed me that the process would take abo...ut 45 to 60 days but that she was pretty sure it would be dropped to a non moving violation which would pretty much save my career. Well 2 weeks in my job decided to let me go because of the ticket. I had other opportunities but they all hinged on me getting the ticket sorted out. I called Ms. Whitley and she don't worry I'll make a few calls. Not even a whole week later she had my ticket dropped to non moving and also got proof to me immediately following to show the potential jobs. Ms. Whitley to a situation that could have had me jobless for 6 months to a year and turned it to a bump in the road of life. I'm still able to work and support my family because of it. Her exceptional work, ability to break down legalese and make things understandable, and her effort to make you feel like a priority even when she's extremely busy is the reason I would never hesitate to refer someone to her in the future. I can't thank her enough and if I ever have a problem in or around Belleville again I won't hesitate to give her a call.
