Patricia Lucille Dennis

Ms. Dennis was our adoption lawyer for over a year. During this time she rarely returned calls (and at one point I was calling once a day for THREE MONTHS - I never had a response). She claimed to have filed legal papers on a certain date, but after checking with the court I found that she filed them... MONTHS after claiming to have filed them. When we finally fired her, our new lawyer requested Ms. Dennis' files on our case. She did not return our lawyers calls or respond to written correspondence. Since we don't have the file, I'm not even sure that the other things she claimed to have done for us were even accomplished. We're starting all over again. We have since discovered from speaking with a few other lawyers, that Ms. Dennis has a reputation for this kind of behavior. I wish we had done more research on her before we'd hired her.

I'm a totally disabled veteran and take prescription narcotics (morphine and percocets) so I relied heavily on this attorney to help me make good decisions in my divorce case. It's been a year and a half now since i've seen any of my 3 daughters and if I go to the state they live in to see them, i'll... most certainly go to jail. Instead of standing up to my ex-wife's attorney, she convinced me that their offer was the best that I was going to get and it ended up requiring me to pay more per month than I was making. Everything was based on what I had made in salary in the past before I had become disabled to the point that I could no longer work. Now she wants me to pay her an additional 10k! I could have gotten myself screwed this bad without her services for free!

I just recently used Mrs. Dennis in my family law case. She was always friendly. However, she took forever (months) to even file a motion for a hearing then the court clerk said she filed it wrong (after I called courts). She had me hire a private investigator and give her tons of documents to suppor...t my case. However, when we got to court she did not speak up at all to the judge and let the other attorney do all the talking. She convinced me to settle for one weekend per month and said that is probably the best I could get even though the other party was charged with numerous drug offenses. I was very displeased with her representation and am now trying to use this site to find a more competent attorney who will fight in court for what is right for the child.

I hired Attorney Dennis to handle a child support/visitation battle I have been dealing with for 4 years. Not only did she finally get the right amount of child support from my childrens father and a visitation schedule that works best for myself, our kids, and their father, she took the time to lis...ten to my concerns and why it was so inportant to me that these issues got resolved so we could be a happier family. I have had other attorneys in the past who had always pushed my case off and never took the time or energy to do the things that needed to be done to resolve our issues. Ms. Dennis started working on my case imediately and all our issues were resolved within a couple months. It was the first time I had ever walked out of the courthouse relieved. I am suprised to see any negative review on her, because I honestly think she was great! She has exceeded my expectations by far and if I ever need anything I will definately have her represent me.

I highly recommend Mrs. Dennis. My custody and visitation seemed to be spiraling into a complex case. Mrs. Dennis exceeded my expectations with helping me get things under control and ease my fears about the hearing. She is aggressive, honest, and outspoken. My opinion of the negative reviews is ...that those individuals were expecting things that they knew they didn't have a chance at getting and she represented them the best she could given the circumstances. Trust me she is not one to back down nor is she one to sugar coat things.
