About Jorge
Biography
A proud son of Mexican immigrants and a native Spanish speaker, Jorge Velázquez uses his life experience and legal knowledge to help others navigate complex criminal cases. Jorge earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics at Brigham Young University before attending Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor Degree with a certificate in Intellectual Property. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2023.
Jorge began his legal career in the Champaign County Public Defender’s office, where he developed his passion for criminal law and litigation. During his more than two years as Assistant Public Defender, he represented hundreds of clients in a wide range of traffic and felony matters before joining Bruno Law Offices.
Jorge and his fiancé live in Urbana, soon to be joined by a baby girl. He enjoys all forms of media, experiencing new foods and cultures, and spending time with his family.
