Just McDON'T

For something really straight forward with the complexity of Velcro shoes as opposed to laces, Mr. McGill may questionably be up to the challenge. For anything that requires a modicum of attention, expertise, or professionalism, you will find him grossly lacking. The extent of my l...aw experience is the sole result of watching Law and Order SVU marathons, and still I was more effective than McGill. The entire McGill experience was the consummate disappointment. He took my retainer, and then dropped the ball and must have spent the next 6 months looking for it because I didn’t hear from him again. His office received communication from the other party’s attorney the first week of December that he admittedly “lost in a stack of papers” and did not send to me until the last week of January, far past the deadline for submission and offered a weak, “oops” as amends. After missing one court date entirely with no excuse or apology, McGill finally managed to show up without recognizing me and having made no preparations whatsoever for the court date for which I have waited over a year. He spent the entire time fighting for the other party’s requests while completely ignoring or blatantly arguing against mine. That court date? Still waiting on it. Due to McGill’s gross negligence, I still have no resolution to any of the legal issues I paid him to address. For the duration of his retention, I received no returned emails, no returned phone calls, no updates to my case. McGill is a high-priced ostrich focused only on burying his head in the sand. After sending him an email outlining the expectations for my case, McGill withdrew from my case, taking the full retainer and leaving me worse off than when I started, with a mountain of unaddressed legal issues and client abandonment two days before my next court date. If you are looking to retain counsel to advocate for your issues, do not waste your time or money.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
