Mohit Khare obtained his B.A. in Economics from the University of Illinois-Chicago in 2006. After college, worked as an accountant for Aon for a year, gaining valuable financial experience. Mohit then went to Northern Illinois University Law School and obtained his J.D. in 2010. While in law school Mohit worked at two law firms, one focusing on personal injury cases and the other on workers’ compensation claims.
After law school Mohit joined the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office, where he worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney for 5 years. During this time Mohit litigated over 25 jury trials and over a 100 bench trials and motions. Trials include DUIs, misdemeanors, and felonies such as armed robberies, gun offenses, violent crimes, and murders. Mohit also worked with police departments in reviewing and charging cases, and regularly presented cases to the grand jury.
Mohit joined an insurance defense firm in August 2016, concentrating his practice on workers’ compensation, business and commercial, civil rights actions, and general civil litigation matters. During this time, Mohit successfully argued numerous substantive motions. Mohit then Joined barrack, Switzer, Long, Balsley & Van Evera, LLP, in May of 2018. Mohit currently focuses his practice in protecting the rights of those injured in personal injury or workers’ compensation matters. Additionally, Mohit also practices in commercial and civil litigation.
Mohit has also presented and spoken at seminars regarding a multitude of legal issues, including the admissibility of Facebook evidence at trial, appealing to jurors, and current updates regarding new case law and legislation.
