Donald Pearson Sullivan

Prior to becoming an Attorney, I served in the Army.  I was originally commissioned as an Artillery Officer with additional assignments in the Aviation Branch.  I served seven years of active duty, and served for nineteen years with the Reserve and National Guard.  It was during my time with the Army that I first learned to fly helicopters.  I retired with the rank of Major.

For a time I worked as a civilian helicopter pilot in the oil industry.  Following that I began a career in medical evacuation for Lifeline.

I believe that it was the combination of the skills that I obtained while in the Army and my desire to choose a career that was logic oriented that first prompted me to enter the Legal Field.  I attended DePaul University in Chicago and graduated in 1987.

I worked as an associate attorney at Williams and Montgomery, LTD in Chicago, where I served as a defense attorney for large insurance companies.  

Eventually I moved to the Rockford area, where I served as a Public Defender for the County of Winnebago.

From there I branched out on my own in 1990, and have been a practicing independent attorney for the past 23 years.
