Michael is a Chicago attorney and certified mediator with a diverse legal practice. Michael began his practice with a focus on Guardianship, Probate Matters, Elder Law issues, and Estate Planning. Due to the needs of his clients, Michael’s practice has grown to include Residential Real Estate purchases and sales and limited Family Law matters. Mediation is also taking a larger role in his practice as it is often a desirable alternative to litigation.

The Law Office of Michael R. Oquendo is a boutique practice that focus is on the client and their needs. Michael strives to offer professional, efficient, client-based service at a reasonable cost. Michael understands how valuable your time is and strives to be flexible with office hours, appointment times and out of office meetings. Unbundled and limited scope services are also available. We look forward to helping you make some of life’s most difficult decisions manageable.

Michael is also a proud member of the Chicago Fire Department. He has been a professional firefighter since joining the department in 1999. Working for the fire department has given Michael a rich and diverse perspective of the city and its residents. Because of this perspective, Michael provides Pro Bono services to the people of Chicago regularly. The men and women of the CFD have always been like a second family and he is grateful and proud of his service. Out of a desire to show his appreciation for his fellow firefighters and first responders, Michael offers discounts to active and retired Fire, EMS, Police, and Military service members.
