Kurt Drain

Kurt Drain has been litigating and counseling clients regarding civil matters since 1995. After practicing for six years in California, Kurt moved to Illinois in 2001. He continues to represent clients in both states, in federal and state courts, and before a variety of municipal and state administrative agencies and departments. He has also represented clients pro hac vice and in discovery matters in a variety of jurisdictions.

Kurt's practices areas include commercial and contract disputes and negotiation, lender liability and mortgage litigation and compliance, secured lending disputes, employment disputes, reinsurance disputes, mechanics lien and construction disputes, product liability litigation and property rights matters.

A graduate of Yale University and The University of Michigan Law School, Kurt has presented lectures and seminars on a number of issues throughout his career including evidence presentation, electronic discovery, and arbitration agreements.

Kurt is currently Chair of the Chicago Bar Association's Business Law Committee and is a past Chair of the Documentation, Drafting and Best Practices Subcommittee.
