Rafael A. Vargas

Please refrain from hiring Rafael Vargas. Before I comment, I just want everyone to know that I am not ignorant to the system. He is very unprofessional and does not know how to talk to his clients. He does not like to be questioned and will even argue with his clients. He rarely answered his phone a...nd at times would go MIA. One time, he didn't return my call until 10 min before court and I was already prepared to inform the judge I didn't know where he was. I found out he was actually out of the country. He talked to me like I was some idiot woman who doesn't know anything. He did absolutely nothing for my case but made alot of promises. There were times where he was not prepared for court and had to ask for continuances, which hurt my case because there were deadlines to be made. When he asked for money, I sent it to him. Money was not the issue. Just a terrible attorney all together. Lastly, if you are a victim of domestic violence, please do not hire him! He is not trauma informed and he has an abusive personality as well. I have worked in the domestic violence field for almost 15 years and I would never ever refer any of my clients to this man and I ask that anyone else that works in the DV field do not send their clients his way.

I would do 0 stars. Hired Rafael 2 years ago for a divorce and certain rights along with child rights. After the first court he said I was done. I did not receive any updates nor feedbacks via email or phone. I had to drive myself to the court house to find out I was NOT divorce. As of today I have e...mails requesting answers and Rafael is no where to answer my questions after being paid for his services.

We hired Mr. Vargas for some legal assitance for a child custody case. Not only did we lose the case but were blindsided by a judgement to pay child support which we had no idea was in even at play. Terrible service, no communication. It was my understanding that a lawyer job is to defend and guide ...you like if it was them on the front lines. That is exactly what did not happen here. Mr. Vargas needs a new career as being a lawyer in its truest meaning is not what Mr. Vargas does. The rating on this site pretty much says it all the 5 stars are more then likely a cover up for his poor service. Stay away unless you want to lose your shirt. Signed very disatified customer.

I gave him a $5000 retainer July of 2018 for a family matter case. He promised the world. Never delivered. Never proved anything he claimed he did. I ended up settling outside of court and without his help and he refuses to return my paperwork and balance of retainer. He keeps ignoring my calls/email...s/texts. DO NOT USE HIM

I consulted with Rafael because my son's father would not agree to renew my son's passport so that's i could go visit my family overseas (which I used to do every year). Rafael listened to my story, asked what my goals were and talked about putting a plan into action. He was great! He would call... me before the court day and discuss what he was going to say and what was "kind of" expected from that specific day. He would ask me if I agreed with it, etc. I got what I wanted and more! I will probably need a lawyer in two years, when I move out of state, and I will definitely hire him again to help me out
