Aaron E. Rifkind

I hired Rifkind Patrick for a breach of contract arbitration case as I sought damages from a deadbeat and defiant client. Sean Patrick was my primary attorney; Aaron Rifkind was my point person when Sean was on vacation and he played a large role in the settlement negotiations. Sean made some ...serious mistakes in the case. I felt like Aaron's response was to always privilege his firm's interests over my company's interests. As a client, I felt slighted. They made a mistake, and then they tried to push me into a low-ball settlement just so that they could sidestep the problems they created. Aaron's tag-teaming with Sean on the call to push me into such a low settlement was unbecoming, unprofessional, and disrespectful. I eventually got replacement counsel and everything went much better, but I still had to pay the price of damage done. While Aaron seemed knowledgeable and likable, my experience with his services was poor.

Aaron did not help me prepare for my case very well. There was very little communicated to me about the entire process and Aaron was not good about keeping me in the loop. Most of the time, I would receive phone calls from his office asking for payment. There were times that I questioned his decision... making and it felt like he was just trying to prolong my case so he can continue to be paid. I would definitely not recommend Aaron as legal counsel for anyone that needs representation.

No one likes being sued — even less so when it's extortion — and when I found myself facing malicious prosecution from a habitual court abuser, I was glad to have Aaron combat the plaintiff (and many times the inept system) at every turn. Bottom line: Aaron wanted to win as much or more than I di...d. He was personally invested in the outcome of my case. Eventually, he cut down every bogus claim one by one, laying bare the spectacle of it all, leaving the plaintiff high and dry. In many court cases, the other party AND the legal system are complimentary foes. You've got to fight both, especially in a country where anyone can file suit for anything against anyone at anytime. Aaron's got a few notches in his belt from this case. He was likely the only one to strategic enough to pull off such moves. The whole thing sucked, but it went away because of Aaron. I'm thankful for him.
