Two things stood out beyond the general lack of communication. First, I was never brought to my 341 meeting of creditors — a mandatory hearing in every bankruptcy. I received the notice for my initially scheduled meeting after the meeting date had already passed, even though the firm receives cou...rt notices electronically. Second, the firm repeatedly contacted me claiming my personal paperwork was missing, despite my having emailed the same documents to them numerous times — I have the dated emails for every transmission. Throughout my case, calls and emails went unreturned during time-sensitive deadlines, and I documented these failures in writing to the firm. When I finally asked to be reassigned to a different attorney, the firm’s owner replied — in writing — that he could not assign my case to anyone who would meet my needs and expectations. I’ll give him credit for the candor. But hearing that from a firm’s principal after your case has already been dismissed tells you everything. Bankruptcy clients are people in the most stressful financial moment of their lives. What we need is basic responsiveness and organized handling of the documents that decide whether we keep our homes. I did not receive that here. After my initial meeting with Mehul, I was unable to reach him. He refused many of my calls and I was assigned a different attorney who did not know anything and could not help me. Mehul promised to help us with our home situation only to say that he does not represent us in a time of urgent need. I’m leaving this review so others in a vulnerable position can weigh it before choosing representation.
