NOPE!

Arlette Porter is NOT a good attorney. She drug my case along for months, talking tough, leading me to believe that she was on my side. Then, when it was time to actually put in some work, and do the job that I hired her to do, she completely changed her approach. For months, she led me to believe... that we could BUILD A CASE around certain facts and evidence, then just never presented ANYTHING in court. Never argued anything. Her presence, her title, the money that I paid her, etc...all for nothing. I could have walked into court myself, and done a better job arguing my case...because I ACTUALLY WOULD HAVE ARGUED MY CASE. When I questioned her tactics, she completely changed the whole tone of our relationship. For months, it had been about what we were going to do...then suddenly, it became about all the things that we COULDN'T do. She led me to believe, for months, that we could argue this, or argue that. And once it was time to actually argue this or that, all she does is give me reasons that we can't argue this or that. She didn't even try. It was a completely dishonest way of doing business. Let me know initially that you don't intend on actually fighting for my rights, and we could have simply parted ways early, and I would not have wasted time, money, and opportunity piddling around with an attorney who never had any plans on fighting on my behalf. Furthermore, Arlette Porter is consistently disorganized, and for lack of a better term, "scatterbrained". There were numerous examples of me telling her something, or giving her important information, and then her completely forgetting what we had discussed. This includes her telling me AFTER THE FACT, what we should have done legally to strengthen my case. WHAT DID I HIRE YOU FOR, if not to be on top of my legal matters!?! If you know that we should have filed a motion or whatever, WHY DID WE NOT FILE IT?!?! What attorney says to their client, once it's too late, "oh, we'd have had a chance, but we should have done XYZ?" Well, we had the chance to do XYZ! Why are you telling me that now! A good attorney would have actually done XYZ, right? We hire attorneys to HELP AND ASSIST us through legal matters. We trust and believe in their expertise. They are our voices, they are our advocates, they lead our decisions as we attempt to navigate the unfamiliar waters of the legal system. Arlette Porter did not do any of that. She sold me a bill of goods, and when it was time to deliver, she didn't even TRY to do anything that she spent months claiming we could do. I can understand if we take our shot, and it just doesn't work out...I get that there are no guarantees of victory or success. But to lead me to believe in you, and then NOT EVEN TRY? That is dishonest, and a bad practice. I would not recommend Arlette Porter to anyone. There are a million attorney's out there...please learn from my mistake, and go another route.

Very pleasurable experience

During a particularly rough patch in my marriage I began exploring the idea of a divorce. I reached out to a few attorneys and was not very happy in what I was finding out there, so a friend of mine recommended attorney Arlette Porter. After contacting her for a consultation we made an appointment an...d meet right away. Attorney Porter listened to my story and understood where I was coming from and outlined my options based on her extensive background. She walked me through the process from start to finish and made me feel like I was not alone. Attorney Porter made me feel like she was on my team to help me with my divorce and get custody of my daughter. In the time that I spent with Attorney Porter she showed me the epitome of professionalism and it is a pleasure to provide a recommendation for her to anybody that is looking for a excellent Attorney. P.S I received what I was looking for in my divorce with joint custody of my daughter with me being the main caregiver. Thank you very much!

Divorce

Arlette is constantly late for court, I had to replace her midstream because she botched up my case and then quit. Then to top it off she refused to tell me or my new lawyer what happened in the hearing she attended without me present! I would not recommend Arlette to anyone.
