Distinquished, courageous service beyond the call of duty

Atty Mahmoud represented me in a two month federal (white collar) criminal trial in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I had a national radio program which promoted foreign currency trading that I was involved in from 2003-2009. I did not manage money or investments. I raised money on my national radio program.... i had customer contact and I trained representatives. I was falsely charged with wire fraud, mail fraud, and aiding and abetting others in stealing millions of dollars. Attorney Mahmoud showed that i did not steal a dime, that I lived frugally, that I was not in agreement with the false advertising that was sent out by one of my partners with my name on it, and that I did not know of the fraud that was going on in Zurich, Switzerland involving the foreign currency trading program. Attorney Mahmoud made a brilliant opening argument, filed written motions to acquit at the end of the prosecution case, the end of the defense case and now at the end of the trial, after I was convicted along with the two other defendants who stole millions of dollars. Attorney Mahmoud has filed a post trial motion for acquittal and for a new trial. He was absolutely brilliant in his cross examination of prosecution witnesses and demonstrated how various witnesses had lied about the evidence and had been coached by the prosecution. He further introduced testimony that showed that the convicted felon whom the prosecution coached, had never met with me at the end of May 2009 to tell me of the fraud in Switzerland. The jury went totally emotional and swept me under the bus along with the money managers who had stolen money. They were mad because I raised 2/3 of the $194 million raised in the foreign currency program. My radio program was highly successful; the prosecution referred to me as the "cash cow" and the "money machine." Mahmoud showed that I did not know of the fraud and they kept it from me, based on various emails that were sent indicating that the main thief, Trevor Cook, said to keep me in the dark. They did, but the prosecution, as Mahmoud pointed out in his written motions, used a theory, "false advertising to impute knowledge of a fraud", when the Supreme Court of the US has said that you can not do that! He wrote a brilliant post trial motion for acquittal and for a new trial which you can read on line in PACER. The case is US v Beckman et al 11-228, District Court of Minnesota. We are waiting for the federal court to rule on his brilliant motion in order to overturn my unfair and unjust conviction. He has assured me that he will appeal, if necessary, because, as he as stated, he is not the ordinary attorney who represents anyone. In white collar crime cases which he has done in his 38 years of experience, he only represents those whom he believes are innocent. If he does not feel you are innocent, he will not argue that to a judge or jury. He is a man of principle and baring unlike any other attorney whom I have every met. I have seen him work tirelessly, without breaking for meals or other distractions until he has prepared himself to the level that he requires. He does not allow a stone to be unturned in his effort to represent a client. He showed me that he is not only brilliant and tenacious, but he abhors pompous clients who treat him with disdain, because he will not sugar coat the facts and tell them what they want to hear. He graduated from Harvard Law School and Dartmouth College. He is a world traveler and has no personal prejudices that I could see. He is disiplined and has never smoked, drank or tried drugs from what I have seen and from what his wife and friend have said about him. He is unusual in that he does not have the materialistic and greedy drive of some egotistical attorneys whom I have met. He makes you stick to the point and will not allow you to use unimportant irrelevant issues to cloud what is important. He has shown me what real sacrifice is when you are committed to the truth.

Very, Very Disapointed

While this attorney kindly offered some free advice in the past, which is why we sought his help, when it came right down to actually getting a work product out of him he seriously failed. Insisting on a retainer before actually securing Ad Hac Vici (sponsorship) in CT, promising to use those funds t...o secure and pay for local help, refusing to provide an accounting, and then the work product provided, if used, would have suffered us much embarrassment. A big thumbs down! While we were effectively doing the work he promised to handle (secure local sponsorship and help), we lost sight of protecting my father, did not obtain conservatorship which in my opinion contributed to his death through Hospice and my eager sisters wanting his money - long story - BEWARE of Hospice - ain't what it used to be. One day he is talking and laughing, within two weeks dead from dehydration and sarvation due to a sore throat that never was evaluated. When we asked for a refund on the retainer because nothing was done as promised, threats of lawsuits began in the midst of my fathers passing and before any accounting or justifications for his alledged work was offered. I would recomend to stay far, far away from this attorney unless everything is clearly laid out and well understood, and even then I would hesitate and think long and hard about using him. It's bad enough my father died, I am left with very little money to pursue this matter further, and now I have this lunitic threatening me with civil action to get more money out of me before providing me with a bill for services. Totally unprofessional! Yes, stay away from this one.
