Terrible experience

I had an extremely disappointing experience working with Rebecca Day, and I feel it is important to share so that others are fully informed when choosing legal representation. Breach of confidentiality: Ms. Day sent HIPAA-protected client information directly to opposing counsel without my consent..., which raised serious concerns about her attention to privacy and ethical standards. Poor legal guidance: She provided misguided advice on how to respond to a GAL recommendation, despite well-established historical rulings in the county that suggested a different and more effective approach. Incomplete case preparation: Critical elements of discovery were not pursued in a timely manner. Had these been handled with urgency, they could have significantly reduced both costs and complications in the case. Last-minute withdrawal: Less than 24 hours before an important court appearance, Ms. Day informed me she would no longer be practicing in the county. Without prior notice or any discussion, she unilaterally reassigned my case to another attorney. This left me scrambling to retain new counsel immediately before court. The combination of these actions not only undermined my case but also forced me to incur exorbitant additional legal fees and contributed to a less favorable outcome. In my view, Ms. Day demonstrated a lack of professionalism, preparation, and client consideration throughout my case.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
