I reached out to the firm that Tod Rottman worked at, Barrett and Farahany, for help from a referral from a well respected law firm that was not in my jurisdiction. In November 2023, I was supposed to have a consultation with Tod Rottman. I received multiple emails, the last of which, on my schedule...d IPA day, stated that I would receive a call. 30 minutes into my scheduled time, I emailed Angela Beldera (his paralegal) informing her that I had not received a call. She said that I was supposed to use a zoom link and that we would reschedule. I followed up two more times when I received no further communication. In January 2024, I received a turn down letter from Shaylnn Shower (who was possibly his new paralegal) signed by Tod Rottman, stating that they couldn’t get in touch with me. This was not true, as no one had tried to reach me by phone nor email. I had attached screenshots showing that I attempted to reach Attorney Rottman multiple times. Ms. Shower apologized for the “misunderstanding” and the consultation was then rescheduled for February 2024. I waited almost an hour in the zoom room for Attorney Rottman. I then called the firm’s number and was transferred to Ms. Shower. She claimed that she was unsure of the issue, and reached out to Attorney Rottman. We were connected almost an hour and a half after our scheduled time. Attorney Rottman, per his exact words, said to me, “I will not leave you hanging.” Attorney Rottman promised to follow up and make phone calls regarding an open disability discrimination complaint, and he never did. I followed up with Mr. Rottman a month after my consultation, in March 2024. I didn’t receive a response from him until April 2024, 60 days after our consultation. Although I responded to his email, I never heard from him again. When someone reaches out to an attorney, it is at a critical and life-altering point in life. Any communications and interactions should be handled with the utmost respect and professionalism.
