Lawrence Stephen Starkopf

When I met Larry Starkopf I thought he was nice...too nice to handle my ex-husbands aggressive attorney. To my great benefit and surprise he not only rose to the challenge he surpassed it! Larry Starkopf is a true trial attorney who was knowledgeable, assertive and spot on in his objections of every ...trick opposing counsel pulled. I dealt with three other attorneys prior to retaining Larry and while he was not the least expensive he was worth every cent! How often can someone say that about their attorney? By the time I landed in Larry's office I was very distrustful of attorneys and skeptical of his approach to my matter. If there is any advice I could pass on to a future client of his it would be to TRUST your attorney. It took me awhile to relax and let Larry drive the matter but once I let go of my fears I was able to relax, assured of his best efforts representing my interest. I was never passed off to an associate attorney and was constantly abreast of every ounce of activity. He had a stellar assistant, Deborah, whose familiarity with my matter was matched by Larry's. As a team they were very involved and well versed in my matter, despite maintaining a full calendar and case load. Larry informed me that he could make no promises on the outcome of my matter but promised that in the end (no matter the outcome) I would KNOW that he fought for me. He kept his promise and because of his efforts I not only received sole custody I was also awarded more support than what was initially suggested. I watched Larry raise more than a reasonable doubt that my ex-spouse was hiding assets. This was a big bonus considering we were not informed of opposing counsel's plans to reduce support. Without prior knowledge and only holding evidence for a few minutes, Larry used the documents submitted against my ex. This quick thinking ultimately won a favorable financial verdict for me and the children. He is a smart attorney who fights for his clients...I'm glad my ex didn't get to him first!
