Very bad experience

I will start off by saying that I chose this lawyer because I thought he was trustworthy since he helped someone I know get their green card. The initial consultation went well and he said I was good to go with the process. This was in July of 2019 that I signed the contract with him. They took month...s to send the first application which a friend of mine who is a paralegal said those applications do not take that long to prepare. Immigration approved the application about 4 months after they sent it last year in 2020. After that the next part of the process was next, the I601A application which they kept telling me was almost ready for like 7 months even took the NVC fee and it turns out the paralegal that was preparing my application didn’t work there anymore so my application wasn’t even finished after like 7-8 months. In February of 2021 he said he finally sent it and had me zelle him the $715 fee for the application. I have yet to receive the receipt & I called the USCIS to check what’s going on & they said they could not find anything in the system but that my lawyer should have a tracking number for the application so my wife called his office and they said they did not have a tracking number for it which is super sketchy. Though immigration is taking longer to send out receipts it’s been almost 90 days since he supposedly sent it and I’ve heard that’s way too long. At this point I’ve lost all credibility on him and highly doubt he sent my application. Took my $8,000 and now I’m left in limbo almost 2 years after starting the whole process .

Unprofessional lawyer

I'll start the review off by saying that with all of the hassles that he put my wife and I through, the final immigration decision ended on a positive note (Green Card received) and that's the only reason I'm giving him 2 stars. With that being said, his general unprofessional behavior is what prompt...ed me to write this review. I've outlined a few instances below: 1. Late 30 minutes during the initial consultation 2. Never informed us of paralegal's departure in the middle of our case (our main point of contact) 3. Verbally abused via email (He accidentally included me on an email to the Law firm that contracted his services and "bad-mouthed" me) 4. Green card application incomplete - His firm omitted crucial evidence that supported my marriage (pictures and a lease). 5. Unprepared during final green card interview - When getting probed by the Visa official, he indicated that I was a student (which I was not). This led to further confusion that I had to address with the Visa official. I have more examples of his poor handling of my case, but based on the money that was spent to retain his services I would not recommend Jesus. I am happy to provide more context to anyone who needs it along with proof, so please don't hesitate to reach out. Thanks

Consultation

Just had consultation with Jesus Ruiz Velasco after heard nothing but the good things about him.Very serious atorney, carefully gave me explanation on all my guestion. He is one of these lawyer who is gonna do excellent job for u without paying lots of money.Honest about what he can do without empty pr...omises.The most important thing is that he is gonna take care about u on the best possible way.People usualy want famous lawyer but they dont understand that most of them care only about money, and then when they switch the lawyer and hire some younger lawyer they realized how easy was it to fix the case. That's my personal opinion. And I highly recommend this lawyer. He is in my top 5 list of immigration lawyer in Chicago.
