Christopher Helt " Fought like Rocky" for me

Christopher Helt helped me achieve something that I thought at times was never possible: American Citizenship! I originally filed for my citizenship back over nearly 7 years ago and waited patiently, was interviewed two times by USCIS and still nothing-no decision. Then in 2013 I received a notice o...f intent to deny my case based upon things that had nothing to do with my eligibility for my citizenship.this was my reward for waiting patiently for USCIS to decide my application. I hired Christopher Helt to prepare a response. He prepared a very thorough and detailed response answering each and every question in the Notice of Intent to Deny. Well, USCIS still denied my application, but gave a differentteason. That reason was never mentioned in their previous letter to me. I was very frustrated and thought maybe I should just renew my green card for another ten years, but Mr Helt said I should file and appeal and we did. He wrote a wonderful appeal, but more importantly he prepared me for my naturalization hearing interview personally and got me ready, and he attended my interview with me. Then he fought like "Rocky" persistently saying that USCIS had made a mistake on denying my case. When the USCIS officer called him to tell him I had won my appeal, he also called me on Saturday afternoon because he knew I was waiting every single day. Well I just received my oath notice to become a American Citizen. My dream has come true! I love America and love the work Christopher Helt and his office put into my case, and promptly answering my emails, my calls, always being there for me. I was treated with respect and got the results I wanted. I am HIGHLY recommend this lawyer!!!

ONLY IMMIGRATION LAWYER YOU WILL EVER NEED "BEST MAN FOR THE JOB"

Christopher Helt was there for me and won my deportation case. I was ordered deported and was detained for many months and was going to be deported to my home country. Mr. Helt stopped my deportation, reopened my case, removed my deportation order and obtained my release. From that moment on, Mr. ...Helt was always with me during my saga to legalize my status and stand up for my rights. HE FOUGHT FOR ME -- for years in the district courts and the immigration courtrooms and in different cities. I was deported in Los Angeles and Mr. Helt was there for me. My bond hearing was in Louisiana, and Mr. Helt was there for me. Mr. Helt was there for me at the Memphis court to help me obtain my lawful permanent residency. My immigration case was never easy. Even on the last day of my immigration trial, it was a very contested hearing. We won and Mr. Helt many times spoke up for me, made numerous objections, protected my rights, made sure that I was treated like a human being and with respect. And Mr. Helt later represented my wife. The day before her interview, there was a big snow storm in Chicago and the flights were cancelled. Mr. Helt left the airport and drove to Memphis overnight (THROUGH A SNOW STORM) so he could be with us at 8:00 a.m. the next morning. My wife got her green card, thanks to Christopher Helt. What Mr. Helt did for me and my family was amazing and is superhuman. I can honestly say I don't think there will ever be another lawyer who fights for the South Asian community like Mr. Helt.

Hope in a hopeless situation

I was left helpless and under immediate threat of deportation to India. But I found Christopher Helt and he stepped in as my new attorney. He brought new facts out that my previous lawyer never did. I was "left for dead" by my old lawyer, and Christopher Helt brought me back to life. My deportati...on case has been a horrible experience for me and my family and during this process, I underwent quadrupole heart bypass surgery. DHS still tried to deport me even when I was too sick to breath or walk to court. Mr. Helt never forgot me, his office responded to all my calls, and Mr. Helt ALWAYS responded personally to my emails. His kindness and compassion to me and my family were remarkable, but when he stepped into the courtroom he fought "ferociously" for me. He did this in a very tough place for immigrants, the Atlanta immigration court and before two very tough immigration judges. My doctors in Atlanta saved my physical health, but my lawyer from Chicago saved my life! I am here in America because of Christopher Helt.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
