Literally Disappeared

I hired Brad to assist in settling a dispute with a former business partner. My experience was nearly identical to others described on this page. Brad was highly, highly engaged for about two months. I was so pleased that I was quick to pay while he familiarized himself with my case. When it came tim...e to draft and file a complaint, Brad literally disappeared. The last email I received from him states that he would have a draft complaint completed "tomorrow." Following that, he did not respond to emails, voicemails on his cell phone, voicemails on his office phone, texts, snail mail, or certified mail. I checked through a mutual acquaintance to confirm he remained alive, and they confirmed that he was still alive and actively engaged in his law practice.

Very Erratic Behavior

I hired Brad for a lawsuit against a former business partner. Initially he was very engaged, But then he actually disappeared on me for three months. Not a word. Didn't reply to my emails, voice messages or text messages. Then he reappeared and apologized stating that he was too busy with other cases... and would do this again to me. In November 2019 he asked me to gather and sort a whole bunch of emails. Took me a week to sift through 5 email accounts. I then sent him all the sorted emails that he requested. It is now March 31, 2020 and I have had limited if any contact with Brad; in spite of my repeated requests to talk and discuss the case. We even had a scheduled call that he completely ignored. He has on a few occasions emailed me, "I am on a call, call you in a bit" but I never hear back from him. His behavior has become more and more unusual and erratic. Communication between a lawyer and his client is key. With Brad it is just about non existent. I think that he wants me to fire him. But I have already paid him all the legal bills that he has sent me and would want my money back. He doesn't have a strong case if any to get court approval and resign since I am not delinquent in my payments to him nor have I committed any fraudulent acts.
