Estate Planning

I wanted a competent attorney to handle our estate planning needs and we were fortunate that I were referred to Louis who turned out to be what we were looking for so writing a review for him on AVVO was certainly not a problem.

Good to reconnect with Louis

My wife and I are moving back to the Chicago area and I know from past experience that hiring a lawyer who's well versed in real estate law is the smart thing to do. In 2016 Louis did an excellent job and I just spoke with him on Thursday and it was great to reconnect with him and Avvo came up in our... conversation. This review is for his excellent work in 2016 AND also for the consultation conversation from last week.

Professional Experienced Attorney

We needed someone for estate planning and the other attorneys we spoke with didn't seem to listen to anything we had to say. Louis, however, listened and only after we said what needed to be said he asked the appropriate questions. He took care of everything that needed to be done and we recommend wi...thout hesitation.

Inexperienced and Dishonest

Hired him for probate services nearly 3 years ago. Unbeknownst to me, he completely stopped working on the estate case fifteen months after I hired him. After hiring him, I spoke with him monthly about progression of my case and when can he close the estate. As of January 2018, he would not returne...d my phone calls, or emails regarding updates of my case. Several months ago I went to Cook County courthouse to review my files and noticed there was a date set for a court appearance in 2016. He never appeared in court as my representative at any time. This resulted in me losing my property. For an entire year, this attorney repeatedly lied to me about working on my case. He always said, "The judge issued a continuance" and set a new court date because the other party was not prepared. He also collected thousands of dollars for work he obviously did not do. Three years later my estate is still open, he's missing in action and has a new website promoting The Raymond Law Group! I do not recommend this attorney.

Lack of Eperience & Poor Representation In Court

I hired this attorney for a restraining order case and a civil suit case. He told me the fee would be $1,500 for both cases costing a total of $3,500. We didn't meet b4 the restraining order court date, He came to court and didn't even know who I was. He had no strategy and his questioning was of an ...inexperienced law student. He was fumbling through his paperwork and his words. I was so embarrassed. Of course the Judge threw the case out! I felt that I was poorly represented in court and that I could've done what he did, which was nothing! I was through with that law firm and would never let him represent me for my civil suit case afraid that he would do the same or worse as he done for my restraning order case. I asked him for a partial refund, he then told me the restraining order case cost $1,500, which wasn't the agreement we made. I am disabled and on a fixed income & had to borrow this money!! Wow!! What a waste, $1,500 down the toilet!! I blame myself, I should've researched this attorney before I gave him one dime! But I was desperate & needed immediate legal representation so I rushed into a contract with him. I wouldn't dare refer this attorney to my worst enemy! Nor would I ever go back to that firm and waste another penny! I wouldn't even let him represent me for free!! Smh...
