Robert Slobig

Robert J. Slobig is the president of Torshen, Slobig, Genden, Dragutinovich & Axel, Ltd., a highly regarded Chicago litigation firm. His practice is concentrated in complex commercial litigation, representing a diverse clientele of individuals and businesses. He has tried cases involving business torts, contracts, real estate, insurance, intellectual property rights, partnerships, securities, fraud and professional negligence of attorneys and accountants. He earned the J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law in 1982, and an A.B., magna cum laude from Marquette University in 1979. Mr. Slobig was a partner at McDermott, Will & Emery between 1989 and 1994. He is admitted to the bar in Illinois, in the U. S. Courts of Appeals for the Seventh, Ninth and Federal Circuits, and in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of Illinois. Mr. Slobig has served as the general counsel of the Chicago Council of Lawyers, a public interest bar association, since 1995, and he is active in promoting judicial quality and the prevention of legal malpractice. He is an ordained permanent deacon of the Archdiocese of Chicago.
