Michael P. Sever

Michael Sever is an Associate at Butler Pappas. Michael joined Butler Pappas in October 2010. Since then, he has focused his practice primarily in the areas of subrogation, and product liability defense litigation. Michael is a 2006 graduate of Marquette University, and received his Juris Doctorate from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2010.

In law school, Michael concentrated his studies in civil litigation and criminal litigation, worked for the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, and represented children's interests in St. Louis City Family Court. He received two Dagen Fellowship awards for legal work in public service.  Additionally, Michael served as a coordinator for the Peer Jury in Western Springs, Illinois; an alternative/restorative justice program designed to hold nonviolent juvenile offenders accountable while keeping them out of the Cook County Court system through restitution and volunteering in their communities.

At Marquette, Michael garnered the recognition of the Pi Sigma Alpha and Phi Alpha Theta academic honor societies.  In 2005, he studied at the Les Aspin Center for Government in Washington, DC while working at the U.S. House of Representatives

Michael is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Illinois state courts. He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the Federalist Society.
