Mark Robert Sargis

Mr. Sargis represents corporate clients, developers and small business in compliance counseling, audits, enforcement and clean-up actions, and corporate and real estate transactions involving environmental, safety and land use issues. With an extensive environmental background, he advises and defends clients dealing with contaminated property, permit requirements, environmental site assessments, underground storage tank requirements, and asbestos regulations.

Among various challenges to municipal land use decisions, Mr. Sargis has represented religious institutions in federal and state courts for wrongful denial of zoning, and an individual property owner fighting his local government in a federal jury trial. He has represented developers in both zoning hearings and pollution control facility siting proceedings, including administrative and court appeals.

In addition to other business-related issues, Mr. Sargis has developed a niche representing religious institutions on many different issues facing not-for-profit organizations, including tax exemption, zoning, corporate formation and employment issues.
