Probate litigation (cases involving estates, wills, trusts) is a significant aspect of my practice and is the largest single focus of my work. My involvement in these cases can include representing an individual, bank or charitable organization serving as the fiduciary, or situations where there is a question about the intent or validity of the will, trust or other document involved.

I am a litigator, handling lawsuits and trials on behalf of my clients. This means that, depending on the needs and goals of my client, I either initiate or defend lawsuits to advance my clients' goals and seek to do so in an efficient way, guided by my clients' interests and goals, and in a manner consistent with my client's identity, context and relationships (family, business, community) and long-term interests and goals.

These cases include insurance defense matters (including for self insured companies) in which I defend someone or a company that has been sued in a lawsuit claiming personal injury (including death) or property damage. I also represent individuals and companies who have insurance but whose insurance company is failing to provide insurance coverage and bring a lawsuit seeking to establish insurance coverage (insurance coverage matters).

I regularly handle appeals in Federal and State courts. Usually these are cases where we have served as the attorney in the trial court. Other times, we are asked to handle an appeal of a case that had been handled by another attorney.
