Joshua Avinoam Aldort

Joshua A. Aldort is Of Counsel at Butler Pappas. Josh has a diverse legal background that includes both litigation and transactional experience.  His litigation experience includes all facets of intellectual property, including advertisement injury, unfair competition, trademark infringement, copyright infringement, on-line advertising law, and trade secrets litigation.  Josh's practice also includes commercial litigation, director and officer liability, and general and professional liability defense.  Josh's transactional practice includes trademark and copyright prosecution, and counseling, negotiating and drafting domestic and international manufacturing, licensing, distribution, sales, and marketing agreements.

Josh's clients include Fortune 500 companies, insurance companies, mid-size businesses, and individuals.  Josh has represented clients in many industries, including medical imaging, toy and leisure, telecommunications, non-profits, and social media marketing and advertising.

Josh received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Purdue University in 1992. He then went on to receive his juris doctorate with a Certificate of International and Comparative Law from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology in 1996. While in college and law school, he studied in London and served as a Solicitor's Clerk and a Barrister's Pupil, in which he assisted defending clients in courts throughout London.

Josh is a Chick Evans Memorial Scholarship Recipient. He also serves on the chairman of the board of Leap Learning Systems, a Chicago-based non-profit organization whose mission is to improve education in underserved communities.
