Cameron Ruth Deguerre

Cameron R. DeGuerre,  practices in the areas of trust litigation, probate litigation, fiduciary defense litigation, real estate litigation, elder law, and estate planning and administration, with an emphasis on contested trusts and estates. In addition to representing individuals and families, Cameron represents financial and medical institutions. Cameron has been appointed Special Assistant Attorney General for numerous pieces of litigation brought against the State of Illinois or its representatives.

Cameron graduated with Honors from Miami University, earning her Bachelor's degree in psychology. Cameron received her Juris Doctor from the DePaul University College of Law. While a student at DePaul, Cameron was a staff writer and Symposium editor for the DePaul Journal of Health Care Law, as well as a research assistant focusing primarily on domestic violence issues. Cameron also completed an externship at the American Medical Association's Division on Ethical and Judicial Affairs.

Cameron authored an article entitled Good Samaritan Statutes: Are Medical Volunteers Protected?, which was published in the Virtual Mentor, the on-line ethics journal of the American Medical Association. Cameron also co-authored a chapter, The Legal and Governmental Response to Domestic Elder Abuse, for publication in the Clinics of Geriatric Medicine’s special edition on elder abuse.

Cameron is an active member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association and the Women's Bar Association of Illinois. Cameron was appointed to the Young Lawyer's Division Council and the Standing Committee on Mental Health Law for the Illinois State Bar Association and serves on the Probate Practice Committee of the Chicago Bar Association.

Cameron also proudly serves on various charitable and community organizations including the Auxiliary Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital, the Junior League of Chicago, Dance for Life and the Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce.
