professional, resolved my divorce quickly, took the time to listen/understand my needs

I hired Mitch on recommendation from a good friend who had gone to law school with him, and I'm so glad I did. When I told my ex-husband that I wanted a divorce, he was initially cooperative, even suggesting that we could hire a mediator because it would be so amicable. And, stupid me, I fell for i...t. My husband fought me on literally everything and, on top of that, became increasingly verbally abusive when we weren't in front of the mediator, including showing up my apartment, drunk and yelling at the window until my neighbor called the police. I couldn't deal with him anymore and that's when I hired Mitch, who was a gamechanger. Mitch took the time to listen to what I wanted and what my priorities were in the divorce (security for my eventual retirement and getting on with my post-divorce life), and he also asked lots of questions about my ex - what motivated him, what was really important to him v. what fed his huge ego. Mitch's suggested solution was in the form of a QDRO, which allocated my high-earning spouse's robust 401k to me (thereby easing my retirement anxiety) while letting my ex keep the house, the car, the rental propery, and the other assets that I didn't want or care about. When he proposed the QDRO to my ex and his lawyer, Mitch did so in a way that made my ex feel magnanimous, like I needed him to "take care of me in my old age" because I'd certainly "never be able to do so for myself" and certainly would "never find another partner who could do so." This really spoke to my ex's narcissism. Mitch literally wrote one letter to propose the QDRO and it resolved months of back-and-forth pretty much instantly. If I'd called Mitch in the first place, it would have saved me nearly a year of agony. Now, if the letter hadn't work, I fully believe that Mitch could and would have gotten the job done another way, but as it turned out, he didn't need to. I cannot recommend Mitch enough. These other reviews talk about Mitch prolonging a trial, but that was certainly not my experience with him, and quite the opposite. My ex earned in the seven figures every year - if Mitch had wanted to drag out the divorce, there certainly would have been the money there to pay for it. But I didn't want that, I wanted to move on, so Mitch made that possible. I will be forever grateful to him and I refer him whenever I get the chance.
