Cold business

I recently went thru an eviction where I hired Miss Washington as my lawyer. We talked on the phone one time which is when I initially reached out to her and that was a small fee I paid for consultation. The situation I was in I needed help promptly. The good part about working with Miss Washington ...is that any court filings or hearings were done in a timely manor and was always communicated as so. Maybe because I have never worked with a lawyer before I might be ignorant to how it goes. I felt like money was always more important than my case. I would ask questions about concerns I had and was answered with a bill for her services. I paid a big amount initially and paid for court appearances after that and my situation was never really addressed. All she did was file court papers that if I had time I could have saved thousands of dollars and did myself. I reached out to her expressing my concerned on where my case was headed and asked her for any help or resources she may have on homelessness for me and my 3 kids and was answered with another bill again. That hurt. All the money I spent, the emails expressing my issues and concerns, I wasn’t confident in my case or Miss Washington. After communicating to her that I was not confident in my case and what was going on and that I think I should just surrender and move out , she quickly dismissed herself from my case. No advice, no compassion for my situation or concerns. Just cold hard straight to the money business. Her website states “ At Washington Law Offices, P.C., we do not believe legal services should cause a dent in your wallet or break the bank.” My experience was completely opposite of this! I’m currently homeless with my three kids now. If you are looking for someone to files court papers and take your money , not address your concern, and still end up losing I would recommend this law office and attorney. If you looking for an attorney to really help and advise and maybe show a little compassion for the already stressful situation this is the wrong attorney and law office.

Good day Shana, Thank you for the review. We do understand your situation and I am sorry to hear about your homelessness. Please understand that there is a cause and effect. You did not pay your rent, your landlord filed an eviction case. You ignored the lawsuit and did not show up to court because you did not want to hire a lawyer. The case was closed and an eviction order was entered against you. You were days away from the Sheriff coming to your home and evicting you and your children. Once you saw the seriousness and legal knowledge needed for your complex case, you then called me, I immediately got that eviction thrown out. You paid your initial fee but failed to pay to litigate the case. I think you were under the impression that if you paid part of your legal fee then I would continue to do your case for free. Unfortunately, you cannot receive fee rent and free legal services. Millions of people have to work every day to pay their bills, and rent, and handouts are unacceptable. I understand that you do not feel that you should have to work and the landlord should continue not to receive rent but has a mortgage. I am sorry that you feel that it is my obligation to provide you with homeless shelter information as I am not apprised of shelter information nor resources. I hope that you understand; but again it is my fault for not providing free legal services, not providing shelter information, and the landlord's fault for not allowing you as a single mother of three to live for free. I fight diligently for my clients, as I did for your case, and will continue to do so. I wish you and your family a great Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!

Attorney Maudia Washington

Attorney Washington was phenomenal! My eviction case as the landlord/plaintiff was long and drawn out, but Attorney Washington encouraged me all the way. I got frustrated, but she assured me if I could stick it out, things could very well work in my favor and it did. She kept me in the loop every ste...p of the way. She prepared me very well to defend my position. I especially appreciated how she got back to me asap after every court hearing and she explained all the court jargon to me. She is very organized with her paperwork. Never had to wait on documents. She is so efficient. I picked her by chance. This proved to be a good pick for me. We made a good team. I was sure to do my part and she did hers. I got back possession of my property without having to give the defendant anything. I will recommend Attorney Washington to anyone who needs a lawyer in this capacity. I am grateful and extremely satisfied with her sevice.
