I hired Amy to write a prenup. She came highly recommended by a friend. Overall, the experience was great and I would definitely hire her again. Her billing was very fair, and she sent an invoice in a timely manner once a month as outlined in her retainer agreement. She clearly explained to me all of... the potential issues that may arise during marriage, how to deal with and protect marital vs. non-marital property, and alimony. I was clueless at the start of all of this, so it helped me a great deal. She understood very quickly what I wanted covered in the prenup document and included everything exactly as i asked her. I was very happy about this; She got it correct the first time, and there was basically no time spent on revisions (which also reduced cost). She was very responsive vial email or phone, and if she could not reply immediately, she explained why (eg tied up in court, etc) and told me a time she could get back to me. She is unbiased, straight and to the point, and doesn't waste time. My feeling is that she genuinely wanted to help, and I never got the feeling that she was trying to prolong the proceedings to get more money. Everything was very fair. It can be difficult to find a good and honest lawyer but Amy is definitely one of these rare ones. Highly recommend.

By the time I met Amy, I was in embroiled in quite a legal mess. It had been 2.5 years since the opposing party filed a change of custody petition and things just went on and on without resolution. Emotionally, I was spent. It became clear that I needed a new attorney. Enter Amy. She listened to my ...story and quickly sifted through the fluff/emotional stuff. She knew exactly what to do and how to apply the law to protect me (and more importantly my child). Throughout the process she was always empathetic and understanding of the emotional toll but also knew how to cut-to-the-chase of what matters in the legal world. Unfortunately, opposing party is impossible to deal with and we went to trial. Amy prepared for the case expertly. In the end, I gained decision making authority rather than losing any and the new parental agreement landed pretty darn close to what Amy suggested 6 months before the trial. She knew exactly where things were headed and a lot of time, effort and money would have been saved if everyone just listened to her. Speaking of money - Amy is worth every cent. She is efficient and smart about her time management. The fortunate/unfortunate thing is that I continue to lean on her. Opposing party filed more petitions after our trial and I always feel like another one is around the corner. She is always honest with me about what can/cannot happen and helps me stand my ground. When needed, so goes to bat for me in the courtroom and digs her heels in; advocating for the things that are truly important. Someday, I hope I won't need her. In the meantime, I am so grateful to have her in my corner.

In addition to being experienced and knowledgeable in every aspect of family law, she is thorough, responsive, honest, and compassionate. When advising on a course of action, she will always have your best interests at... heart. In court, she is a top-notch litigator, quick thinking and able to adapt to what's needed in each particular case, be it an aggressive or conciliatory approach. Amy handled my divorce in 2020. There is a reason she is rated as one of the top lawyers in the area. I'm not sure there is a better lawyer out there to handle the toughest and most complex family law cases. Even though my case was considered straightforward there were many complexities and challeng...es we needed to overcome through the process. Amy is brilliant, compassionate, aggressive when needed, and will fight for your rights. I'm just glad she was on my side and representing me through my divorce. After working with a different attorney for a few month, I met with Amy and hired her. My divorce was 2.5 years with very little kids in the picture. There were many layers that were involved related to my divorce process and issues the arose during it. Amy know the laws amazingly well, and especial...ly under the new Illinois law changes. Her knowledge was clearly evident each court date and during our 5 days of trial. She did such an amazing job handling my divorce case, and knew my two little kids were my priority. The judge ruled in every possible favor I was hoping for. He took Amy's/my proposed agreements word for word which included sole decision making and the schedule I thought was best for my kids. It was amazing and clearly showed that Amy knew what she was doing within the laws in place. She is smart, very professional, and communicated amazingly well (which was the down fall of my first attorney). Amy was also very compassionate and handled things in a professional manner.
