Rob L Kohen

Rob L. Kohen has been a member of the Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. legal team since 2014. He focuses his practice in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, car accidents, truck accidents, bicycle accidents, construction negligence, and medical malpractice.

Mr. Kohen has obtained a number of noteworthy settlements in his time with the firm. In 2020, Mr. Kohen obtained a $20.5 million settlement on behalf of a man who was paralyzed and later died after the driver of a semi-truck fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into his home. The same year, Mr. Kohen obtained a $15 million settlement for a motorcyclist who lost his leg in a car crash.

In one of his first trials with the firm, Mr. Kohen was part of a trial team that won a $15.3 million jury verdict on behalf of an Army veteran who was injured at Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center. He also took a heavily disputed liability and causation case to trial that settled on the day of closing arguments for the $300,000 policy limits.

In recognition of his outstanding legal work, Mr. Kohen was recognized in the 2021 Edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch. In addition, he has been named a Rising Star by Illinois Super Lawyers every year since 2018. Mr. Kohen has also been recognized as an Emerging Lawyer by Law Bulletin Media, an honor given to the top 2% of lawyers in Illinois who are under 40 years old or have practiced 10 years or less.

Prior to joining Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C., Mr. Kohen served as a law clerk at another prominent Plaintiff’s personal injury law firm in Chicago for two-and-a-half years.

Mr. Kohen is a graduate of the Chicago-Kent College of Law. At Chicago-Kent, he competed in the American Association for Justice’s Student Trial Advocacy Competition as a member of the law school’s nationally ranked Trial Advocacy Team. He also earned the CALI award for achieving the highest grade in an individual class. Since his graduation, Mr. Kohen has been invited numerous times to speak to current Chicago-Kent students on the topics of medical malpractice and personal injury law.

In his free time, Mr. Kohen is a highly accomplished athlete. Currently, he is ranked in the top 5 percent overall as an All WORLD Ironman Age Group Athlete. Since 2011, he is a six-time Ironman 70.3 finisher, three-time USA Age Group National Championship finisher, two-time Ironman finisher and two-time marathon finisher.

Additional credentials and distinctions include: membership in the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, American Association for Justice, the Chicago Bar Association and the Chicago-Kent Alumni Association.
