My experience was awful. Mr. Cohen might be an expert in his field but working with him is impossible. His office staff is rude and not helpful when I call. He is very unprofessional and inaccessible. He's always running late and does not seem prepared for phone calls. I mainly worked with his advo...cate and it wasn't until we went to mediation that I realized she knew more about the case than Mr. Cohen. It seemed like he drew out the case just so he could make more money. My bill was over $3000 even before we went to the first meeting and not much was even done up to that point other than talking to my son's therapists which he charged a lot of money to do. He then had me work with a different attorney in the office who I found to be very abrupt and did not seem to know what she was talking about. Even one of my son's therapists made a comment about her attitude after a conversation they had and after hearing about my experience she recommended a different attorney. The new attorney quickly helped me get things back on track with the school and looking back I cannot believe all the time and money we wasted with Mr. Cohen.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
