We used Mr. Lamb to re-do a Shareholders' and Partnership agreement that had some outdated information in them. We just wanted to update these things to have them correlate to the facts of the present situation. On first phone call, he seemed that he would be able to do this well. After we signed an ...engagement agreement however, things went downhill fast. Rather than updating what we had, he started over, obviously from a boilerplate template. It was also obvious that in many ways, this template did not really fit our specific business. In going over what we were looking to do, i had this sense that he simply had preconceived notions, and was in no way, shape, or form actually listening to us. We would have to go over things again 4,5,6 times when he kept not giving us what we specifically told him we were looking for. Everything with him turned into a big thing. I felt that he would attempt to use advanced calculus to solve the equation 2+2= ? . And I felt like I was hugely overcharged, as he billed by the hour, and you could never get him to follow a simple straight path. Everything with him becomes convoluted. We also paid for a number of hours for him to rework things that I had specifically given him in writing, but took license to change when we did not want him to change them. I really did not get a feeling of competence from him.
