Heidi L. Wickstrom joined Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. in 2018 and was promoted to Partner in 2023. She concentrates her legal practice on catastrophic personal injury, medical malpractice, product liability, and mass torts. She has obtained a number of noteworthy verdicts and settlements in her time with the firm, including a record-breaking $20 million settlement with the Chicago Transit Authority.
In her time with the firm, she has recovered more than $335 million on behalf of her clients.
Prior to joining Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C., Ms. Wickstrom was an associate at a prominent New York litigation firm. While there, she assisted partners in obtaining many multi-million dollar recoveries for clients; namely, a $15.7 million verdict for the plaintiff in a case against Consolidated Edison of New York; and $10 million and $5.4 million verdicts, respectively, for two plaintiffs in cases against the New York City Transit Authority.
Ms. Wickstrom graduated from the University of Michigan in 2003 with degrees in Communication Studies and Film and Video Studies. After taking a year off to work for the general counsel of a property development firm, she attended Syracuse University College of Law. During law school, Heidi was on the Executive Board of the Moot Court Honor Society and worked for a boutique personal injury law firm as a law student intern.
Engaging with the community is extremely important to Ms. Wickstrom. She is highly involved in the American Association for Justice. In 2020, Ms. Wickstrom was elected to the AAJ Board of Governors. She also recently served as the chair of the Professional Negligence Section and is currently a member of the Professional Negligence Section, Motor Vehicle and Premises Liability Section, the Medical Negligence group, and the Birth Injury and Trauma group. Ms. Wickstrom has lectured several times for AAJ, as well as for the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the New Jersey Trial Lawyers Association, and the Nevada Trial Lawyers Association, and has written articles that were published in AAJ’s Trial Magazine. From 2008 – 2018, she served as the New York Regional Chair for the Student Trial Advocacy Competition for AAJ.
Ms. Wickstrom also holds memberships in the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, where she sits on the Board of Managers, the Illinois State Bar Association, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, and the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers.
Ms. Wickstrom says the most rewarding part of her job is being able to engage directly with her clients and their families, and relishes the opportunity to speak on the behalf of those who may not be able to do so for themselves.
In her spare time, Ms. Wickstrom enjoys playing and watching sports, traveling, exploring the city, and hanging out with her dog, Jack.
