David J. Rashid joined Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. as a Partner in 2023, where he concentrates his legal practice on catastrophic personal injury, medical negligence, and wrongful death. He has been involved in medical malpractice cases focused on misdiagnosis, surgical errors, birth injuries, emergency room errors, and strokes. Throughout his time with the firm, he has recovered more than $575 million on behalf of his clients.
In 2026, Mr. Rashid was part of a trial team that won a $241 million jury verdict on behalf of the family of a man who died while transporting dry ice as part of his job as a courier. The verdict included $49.5 million in compensatory damages and $191.5 million in punitive damages against the company.
In his first trial with the firm, Mr. Rashid obtained a $32.7 million jury verdict on behalf of a man who underwent a foot amputation due to a delayed diagnosis of a blood clot. The verdict is the highest Illinois verdict reported to the Illinois Jury Verdict Reporter for loss of one leg or foot.
Prior to joining Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C., Mr. Rashid worked at a prominent Chicago personal injury law firm, where he secured more than $130 million in verdicts and settlements for his clients. A native of Peoria, Illinois, Mr. Rashid has obtained successful results for clients throughout the state and holds multiple records for medical malpractice verdicts in Cook County, as well as records for medical malpractice settlements in Richland County and Crawford County.
In 2010, Mr. Rashid completed his judicial clerkship with the Office of the Chief Prosecutor for the U.S. Office of Military Commissions. He holds memberships in the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice, Illinois State Bar Association, and Chicago Bar Association.
Mr. Rashid has authored articles published in the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association’s “Trial Journal” and “Trial,” the official magazine of the American Association for Justice. He has lectured on medical malpractice and trial advocacy at the University of Notre Dame Law School and the United Institute for Continuing Legal Education. In 2023, he presented Medical Grand Rounds to the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Emergency Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He has also appeared on numerous podcasts, including “The Results Podcast,” “Trial Lawyers University,” and “Beating Goliath.”
In his free time, Mr. Rashid enjoys spending time with his three young children and his wife. He is also an avid reader and sports fan.
