Best Defense Lawyer

My Story is a little interesting. I went with a then gf who was filing a restraining order on their ex. Daniel did such a good job on behalf of the other side, that even though we lost I was impressed at how easily he caught details and had the whole case dismissed. A year later that gf became my ex ...and tried to take me too, but this time on worse made up child abuse charges. I thought of the amazing job he did back then and he got the entire report dismissed before it even went to court. He is one amazing lawyer. If you are ever in trouble HE is the one to go to. He listens to everything and he takes his time out to reply back to you.

domestic violence

My neighbor referred me to Dan, mostly because he is known to help out other neighbors in need even though he is a busy family man and very involved in his kid's lives. My very large (200+lbs/six feet-tall) cousin belted his wife (half his weight and shorter) of 10 years while they were driving. She ...had too much to drink and became violent, grabbed the steering wheel and broke off the rear view mirror. Her black eye resulted in my cousin getting hit with a domestic violence felony charge and stay away order. We consulted and hired Dan. Though my cousin is sweet-tempered (and by his wife's own admission, "never took a hand to her") he faced felony charges/jail time/potentially losing a job he loves and thousands of dollars in fines. We learned that in the state of Illinois, the district attorney files their own, separate charge in DV issues. At a bench trial, in which the right to a jury trial is waived, one judge would make a judgement call about this he said/she said case. She was a blonde waving pics of a black eye and my cousin looks like, well, an axe murderer. Dan summoned the police officers, reviewed reports and researched Supreme Court findings. He found disparities in her testimony and went for a not-guilty verdict, even though an inexperienced, young female DA was out for blood and raised numerous objections that were ridiculous and tried everyone's patience. Still. It was the sort of case in which anything could happen. But Dan's experience and demeanor tipped the scales in my cousin's favor. Dan asked the right questions in a non-intimidating manner and the victim confessed to starting the fight, throwing the first blow and being so inebriated that anything she said was suspect. I was at the edge of my seat through the trial and my cousin was throwing up in the bathroom an hour before. But Dan was calm, professional and most importantly, he went after that not-guilty verdict with a superior line of questioning that let the truth of the matter become obvious. Like my neighbors, I would recommend him without hesitation.

Not Happy with services at all!

I had a Order of protection case that I had Dan taking care of. At first I felt comfortable with Dan, but as the case moved forward, I felt less and less happy with him. The only regret I have at this point is ever hiring him in the first place. I would never recommend him to anyone!!!

This post is from a client who already the Emergency Order of Protection (EOP) entered against him when he retained me. As is always my practice, the objectives of the representation were clearly established at the initial consultation. They were: Defend or vacate the EOP, protect the client from entry of a Plenary Order of Protection, secure access to the Petitioner's home to retrieve all of his personal belongings, secure the release of the client's rifle and FOID Card that were seized by the police, and avoid or defend any separate claims for back rent by the Petitioner. Every single objective, without exception, was achieved. We ultimately signed an Agreed Order disposing of the case by way of a Civil No-Contact Order that would not be entered against his record. The EOP was vacated, no Plenary Order was entered, I secured his repeated acess to the home (well beyond the limited period prescribed in the statute), all of his personal property was retrieved, as were the gun and FOID card, and he paid nothing to Petitioner on her separate claims for back rent. As I believe input from all clients is important, and in keeping with my efforts to always meet client expectations, I emailed a request to find out why he was dissatisfied with my services. No reply was ever received.
